Bill Tarter

Bill Tarter is a Franciscan Anglican priest in the Diocese of Isles and Inlets (British Columbia). He serves at Christ Church Cathedral and is a Canon there. His ministry includes teaching, preaching, and praying. He also enjoys giving days of recollection and retreats. Bill is a member of the Community of Francis and Clare, and he served as the community’s guardian for five years.
He and his husband live in Victoria. They enjoy taking walks with their dog who is twelve pounds of attitude.
Bill is enthusiastic about Franciscan Spirituality and Living. He takes to heart the mission of St. Francis which was “to rebuild the church.” He believes this is done through compassion, kindness, and prayer. The love of God, neighbour, and self are the cornerstones of community and ministry.
Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre’s theme for 2025 is enchantment.
The Centre is excited to announce that Bill Tarter will be offering a short monthly reflection in support of our theme. The first one will be available on the website and in the newsletter on January 22, 2025. We are thrilled to be partnering with Bill and are eager to explore other opportunities in 2025.
