Creative Journaling: Prepare to be unprepared

This past summer, Michael Battle facilitated an amazing program at the Centre. He spoke about ‘being prepared to be unprepared’. I liked the concept and have been playing with it ever since.

Being unprepared involves change and her shadow uncertainty; both make us uncomfortable. Sydney J. Harris jokingly said, “Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better.” I hope that made you smile. But being unprepared also involves resiliency and positivity. Let’s explore what it means to prepare to be unprepared, in life and in our creativity.

In Creative Journaling, a theme is presented, and participants are invited to use words, imagery and a variety of mixed media techniques to unearth, explore and record their unique responses, thoughts and emotions. Participants are united in hope, support and camaraderie as they uncover their inherent creativity. A safe and creative space is born where negativity is banished leaving only room for meaningful connection, self-expression and healing.

Go to www.sorrentocentre.ca and click on “Upcoming Retreats, Workshops and Events” in the very top banner.
Click on “Register now for…either Tuesday or Thursday. Once on the right day, click on “Register Now”.
Fill in your information and press continue.
Accommodation – Choose zoom program.
You’ll now be at the Provide Payment step. Choose from the dropdown Credit Card or E-transfer.  If you choose credit card it will take you to the form to complete credit card information.
Complete that information and click Register Now.
